A Hunger Games Prequel to Hit Theaters in November

Synopsis

The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, an American dystopian action film directed by Francis Lawrence and based on the novel of the same name by Suzanne Collins, is set to be released in theaters on November 17, 2023.

The film follows the story of a young Coriolanus Snow, years before he becomes the tyrannical president of Panem. As the last tribute from District 12 is reaped for the 10th Hunger Games, Coriolanus is assigned as mentor to the girl, Lucy Gray Baird. Amidst the chaos and danger of the Games, a bond develops between them, testing Coriolanus's beliefs about the Capitol and the rebels.

The film stars Tom Blyth as Coriolanus Snow and Rachel Zegler as Lucy Gray Baird, with Dexter Sol, Ansell Rosa, and Clemens Schick appearing in supporting roles. The screenplay is written by Michael Lesslie and will be produced by Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson.
